LVT vs SPC.

With the introduction of new vinyl products in the market, it can be challenging to determine the best type of flooring for your project. Traditional luxury vinyl plank flooring has been the top choice of consumers for years. However, the industry is witnessing a surge in products like SPC vinyl, which are gaining popularity.

Vinyl flooring comes in two types, PVC core and SPC vinyl planks. The PVC core makes vinyl flooring flexible and soft, while SPC vinyl planks have a stone plastic composite core, which gives them a rigid construction. Due to this, SPC vinyl flooring is significantly more durable underfoot than luxury vinyl flooring. Additionally, traditional LVT planks require a glue-down installation, while SPC vinyl has a floating, tongue-and-groove system that is DIY-friendly.

When it comes to durability, SPC vinyl flooring is the better option. It is less prone to dents and damage from heavy furniture and is a great choice for commercial settings. Both types of flooring are highly water-resistant and can tolerate oil and grease.

Traditional LVT and SPC vinyl flooring come in a wide variety of colours, decors, and plank widths. While traditional LVT flooring can have a realistic look, it tends to be less advanced than SPC vinyl flooring.
